Juicy Cheddar Cheese Burger with Guacamole – The Ultimate basic cheeseburger loaded with shredded cheese, onions; and then topped with cheddar cheese, tomato slice, guacamole!
Hey you! I have a great recipe to share with you today. If you are a fan of grilling; especially burgers or hot dogs – I have a treat for you!
With the warmer weather, we are always outside soaking up the sun and grilling. At least a couple times a week, sometimes more if it’s really warm. It’s a great way to add extra flavor to your food and to keep from warming up the house even more with cooking.
When you are grilling with friends and family, what is the most used staple product? Think condiments. If you guessed mustard, you are correct. We can never keep enough in the house.
There is one pet peeve I do have with mustard. Whenever you open the lid you have to remember to shake it before you use it or you will end up with a soggy bun! No one likes that and I cannot always remember to shake the bottle before. Yuck.
Did you know there is actually a bottle of mustard out there now that doesn’t need to be shaken? Oh yeah. It’s the New Heinz® Yellow Mustard! My husband and I love it and the squeezable bottle is perfect.
As we all know, a burger or hot dog without mustard just isn’t complete. The first time I tried it in February, which is when they launched at Wal-Mart across the country, I knew it was going to be a staple with the squeezable bottle!
You can pick up Heinz Yellow Mustard at other major retailers in many different sizes – 8, 14 and 20 ounces. You can find it next to Heinz Ketchup.
With the mustard being the star ingredient in this burger, I thought I would keep all of the other ingredients basic. In the burger patties you will find shredded cheddar cheese, diced onions, Worcestershire sauce (always a staple in my burgers), salt and pepper. That’s it, my friend. Of course, topped with additional cheddar cheese.
I thought the addiction of guacamole would be perfect on top of this burger with Cinco de Mayo right around the corner! You are going to love it. Make a homemade batch or purchase it pre-made in your grocery store. Just add a little lettuce, tomato slice and/or onions, and now you have a burger.
Now I have shared with you my favorite way to use Heinz Yellow Mustard, now I would love to hear how you use it! What’s one of your favorite dishes to use mustard with?
- 1 and ½ pounds ground beef, I used 85%
- ¼ cup diced onion
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- Optional toppings:
- slice of melted cheddar cheese on top of each burger
- hamburger buns
- Mix together the ground beef, onion, shredded cheddar cheese, salt and pepper together in a mixing bowl. Once mixed together pat into a ball and round them out into patties.
- Follow the directions according to your specific grill. Grill for 5-7 minutes on each side until the meat is fully cooked in the middle to your preferences.
- Melt a slice of cheddar cheese on top. Top with your favorite toppings.
