These butter and garlic chicken wings are really the best ever! Perfect game food!
I am a huge fan of garlic with chicken, it really adds so much flavor. You can however add too much garlic, but these butter and garlic chicken wings have just enough.
With football season starting again, I have been trying to come up with new and exciting ways to make our favorite game day recipes. Now the hubby loves buffalo chicken wings, those really are delicious, but having them every-other-weekend can get a little boring. For me, at least.
I think he would disagree with me on that, but he truly gobbled these wings down.
When I enjoy my wings, I usually do not dip them into sauce, unless they are buffalo wings because they can be a little spicy. With the butter and garlic glaze, it has enough sauce and flavor.
If you are looking for ways to add a little heat, you can always drizzle a little bit of hot sauce, Sriracha or something similar, on top. However it is not needed for be because these wings are amazing. You'll love them, I promise!
These chicken wings are so simple to make and they are baked to perfection. I like to bake my wings for about 15 minutes on one side with just a little bit of salt and pepper, then I will turn them over to bake on the other side for another 20 minutes. The last 4-5 minutes, I will glaze them and broil them to perfection.
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 2 tablespoons butter melted
- pinch of salt and pepper
- For the glaze:
- 7 garlic cloves minced
- 5 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon flour
-
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place the chicken wings in a large mixing bowl, add in the melted butter, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together. Place the chicken wings on a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, turn the wings over and bake for another 20 minutes.
-
While the chicken wings are baking, prepare your glaze by sauteing the minced garlic and butter in a small pan on the stove on low-to-medium-low heat. I did this after flipping the chicken wings the second time. You do not want to burn the garlic, just cook it. Whisk in the flour and allow the glaze to cook for another 5 minutes.
-
Glaze the chicken wings, turn the oven to broil on high, broil for 4-5 minutes. Serve with your favorite sauce, or enjoy plain!

These were killer. Since I can't do dairy, I had to substitute olive oil & margarine for the butter. Many thank-yous!
