Cranberry Margarita Recipe
One of my favorite cocktails is a delicious margarita, and I thought this cranberry margarita was the perfect way to kick off the holiday season. It's such a festive cocktail with bright red, fresh cranberries (which I LOVE), and the ideal cranberry-infused simple syrup. I know I know, margaritas do not typically have simple syrup, but when I was testing these margaritas, I highly preferred it with it. I also tried it without the simple syrup and used cranberry juice, and it didn't do it for me. There wasn't enough cranberry flavor for me. But in the end, I do like to top these cranberry margaritas off with a splash of cranberry juice.
You can easily make this into a pitcher for a crowd, or you can easily make it for one. Read below to see the different options!
I love being able to pair cocktails with appetizers or meat and cheese boards when entertaining, and I have a quick and delicious platter you will want to try. I was at my local Giant browsing the deli-section to see if there was anything I could serve alongside these margaritas, and I found these Hillshire Snacking Social Platters. I grabbed two different kinds - Genoa Salame & Prosciutto and Genoa Salame & Calabrese Salame. Find at Giant. They are so good!
What can I serve with a cranberry margarita?
I highly recommend serving these cranberry margaritas with a delicious Hillshire Snacking Social Platter! I love how all of the ingredients are high-quality and are made with premium ingredients. With five ingredients, they make for a great variety, especially when you grab both of them. Another reason why I like them is that it makes preparation quick and easy with their flip and serve tray designs. If you wanted to spruce it up a little bit, add a beautiful wood charcuterie board to serve.
How to make a cranberry margarita:
Above you will see, I mentioned I created a cranberry-infused simple syrup to start these cranberry margaritas off. For the simple syrup, you will want equal parts granulated sugar, water, and fresh cranberries. Once the cranberries are soft, you mash the cranberries to release all of the cranberry goodness and then strain with a sieve. And then allow it to cool.
Now it's time to assemble these margaritas, and you will want to start with a silver blanco tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and cranberry simple syrup into a cocktail shaker, then shake until mixed. Garnish your glass with salt, a lime wedge, and then you can pour the delicious margarita over ice and then finally top it off with a splash of cranberry juice.
How do I make a frozen cranberry margarita?
Start by rimming your glass with a lime and dip into salt. Combine the tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and cranberry simple syrup into a blender with 1 to 1.5 cups of ice per margarita and blend until slushy.
