This Copycat Chipotle Fresh Tomato Salsa is a staple that's mild in flavor and only takes minimal ingredients to make!

Whenever I go to Chipotle, their fresh tomato salsa is a must-have! My bowl or burrito is not the same without it. It's on the same level as forgetting to add their Cilantro Lime White Rice.

What I love about this recipe:

✔ It requires a few ingredients but has so much flavor
    ✔ Made with 5-ingredients
    ✔ Goes with everything

what to serve with fresh tomato salsa

Chipotle's fresh tomato salsa is made to be served on top of things; burritos, tacos, burrito bowls, you name it! There aren't many toppings you can add to a topping. Here are all of my Copycat Chipotle recipes I have so far:

    • Copycat Chipotle Cilantro Lime Rice

ingredients needed for baked lemon pepper chicken:

    • Roma Tomatoes
    • Jalapeños - You will want to dice them finely.
    • Red Onion - Finely diced.
    • Lime Juice - Fresh lime juice is best.
    • Lemon Juice - Fresh lemon juice is best.
    • Cilantro - Chopped.

    frequently asked questions:

Does Copycat Chipotle Fresh Tomato Salsa contain cilantro?

Yes! The original at Chipotle does contain fresh cilantro, and my copycat tomato salsa does contain cilantro. If you aren't a fan of cilantro, you can always skip it!

    Is Chipotle Tomato Salsa spicy?

Not at all! It's a very mild salsa. If you like a little more heat, add more jalapeños.

    Is this tomato salsa keto-friendly?

In my mind, I think it is! It does contain tomatoes that have carbs, but it's not that many.

    recipe shortcuts

Sometimes we are short on time and need to prep things ahead of time. Here are a few ideas that can help make this recipe even faster for you!

✔ Prep ahead – I highly recommend prepping this fresh tomato salsa ahead of time so the flavors can marinate. All of the ingredients can be prepped up to 24-48 hours ahead of time and kept in a container in the refrigerator.
✔ Cook ahead – I do not recommend cooking this recipe.
✔ Freezer meal – I do not recommend freezing this recipe.

    freezer meal instructions

I do not recommend freezing this fresh tomato salsa. It will lose its texture and be mushy.

    leftovers

Leftovers are my favorite! To save them, place them into a container. This tomato salsa is good in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
