These Air Fryer Baked Potatoes have the perfect crispy skin and fluffy on the inside! The EASIEST baked potato you will ever make and is perfect for meal prepping.

The first time I tried air fryer a potato, I thought it wouldn't turn out right or be way too crispy. Boy, was I wrong! It's the easiest method, and the best part is I can bake potatoes in the summer without heating the house. That's a win-win in my book!

These baked potatoes have the perfect crispy skin coated with salt, and the interior is tender.

What I love about this recipe:

✔ So easy! Hardly any hands-on-time
✔ Crispy exterior and fluffy interior
✔ Doesn't heat up the house

what to serve with air fryer baked potatoes

Air fryer baked potatoes are perfect with almost any main course you can think of!

    TOPPINGS:

    ✔ Sour cream
    ✔ Shredded Cheese
    ✔ Bacon

    MAIN COURSES:

All of my main course recipes are here, but here are a few I think that would be delicious:

✔ Baked Lemon Pepper Chicken Breasts
    ✔ Perfect Oven-Baked Chicken Breasts
✔ Pork Chops with Creamy Mushroom Sauce

ingredients needed for baked lemon pepper chicken:

    • Medium-to-large Russet Potatoes - They are the best for baked potatoes!
    • Oil - You can use olive oil or avocado oil.
    • Salt - Any coarse salt will work.
    • Sour Cream

    frequently asked questions:

Can you really bake a potato in the air fryer?

Yes! I was skeptical before, but I am a huge fan. If you haven't tried them yet, please do, you are going to love them! I promise.

How long do air fryer baked potatoes take?

The size of your potatoes and your air fryer will depend on how long they have to "bake" for. I highly recommend the Cosori Air Fryer because it's the most consistent for me. For my large potatoes, it took about 40 minutes.

Do I have to wrap the potatoes in foil for air frying?

Nope! I like to rub a little oil all over the potatoes and then coat them in salt.

    recipe shortcuts

Sometimes we are short on time and need to prep things ahead of time. Here are a few ideas that can help make this recipe even faster for you!

✔ Prep ahead – You can wash and dry the potatoes ahead of time. However, there isn't much prepping ahead you can do besides "baking" them for meal prepping.
✔ Cook ahead –  Air fried, baked potatoes can be made ahead of time. Make as directed, cool to room temperature, package, and refrigerate. When ready to eat, slowly heat at a low temperature in the oven or the microwave.
✔ Freezer meal – Read directions below.

    freezer meal instructions

These baked potatoes are the perfect freezer meal! I highly recommend freeze after cooking. For best results, use within one month.

    recommended tools

    • Cutting Board
    • Air Fryer
    • Glass Mixing Bowls

    leftovers

Leftovers are my favorite! To save them, place them into a container once cooled to room temperature. Baked potatoes are good in the refrigerator for 2-3 days and up to a month in the freezer.

    • pepper, to top
    Instructions

    2. Add the potatoes to a medium-sized bowl, add the oil. Rub the oil onto the potatoes. Add salt and rub the salt all over the potatoes, turning to evenly coat.
