frequently asked questions:
How to bake lemon chicken breasts?
I always use my favorite way of baking chicken breasts so they do not dry out. The trick is high temperature with a short amount of baking time, 450℉ for a total time of 22-23 minutes.
Can I grill lemon pepper chicken breasts?
You sure can! Just preheat your grill and place chicken breasts on the grill plates, cook for 8 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 7-10 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165℉. Remove chicken and allow the chicken breasts to rest.
Can I bake this without the butter?
I highly recommend the butter because it adds so much flavor and juiciness.

- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp lemon pepper seasoning
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp onion powder
- 1 ½ lbs boneless, skinless, chicken breasts, sliced in half length-wise
- lemon slices
- fresh parsley, to garnish
-
Preheat oven to 450°F. Mix together the melted butter, salt, lemon-pepper seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder together. Rub onto chicken breasts.
-
Place chicken into the oven and bake for 18 minutes. Remove baking dish from oven and place aluminum foil on top and bake for another 4-5 minutes.
-
Remove chicken breasts from oven and allow them to rest for 5 minutes and serve.
Note - I have had to use two large chicken breasts for 1 ½ lbs of chicken. When slicing the chicken breasts in half lengthwise you will end up with 4 chicken breasts, or cutlets.
