Crockpot Crack Chicken is the perfect weeknight meal made with chicken, cream cheese, ranch seasoning, and bacon. The perfect freezer meal!

There's a reason why this dish is called "crack chicken." It's highly addicting and made with the easiest pantry ingredients! It's just so good you'll be making it at least once a month or more.

It's the perfect dump-and-go crockpot recipe and is the perfect freezer meal!

what I love about this recipe:

    • Versatile and can be served in many different ways.
    • Perfect freezer meal to prep ahead of time.
    • Made with basic ingredients you will always have on hand.

what to serve with crockpot crack chicken recipe

Crack chicken is perfect with almost any side dish you can think of!

    TOPPINGS:

    ✔ Scallions
    ✔ Crunchy bacon
✔ Perfect on top of buns or without

    SIDE DISHES:

All of my side dish recipes are here, but here are a few I think that would be delicious:

    ✔ Broccoli with Caramelized Shallots
    ✔ Air Fryer Asparagus
    ✔ Garlic Roasted Mashed Potatoes
    ✔ Air Fryer Baked Potato

ingredients needed for crockpot crack chicken:

    • Boneless, skinless chicken breasts - Can be frozen or thawed.
    • Cream Cheese - Gives it the perfect creamy consistency.
    • Ranch Seasoning - Adds the perfect amount of flavor.
    • Crumbled Bacon - For the best results, use real bacon and not bacon bits. If you are using bacon bits, make sure it's actual bacon.
    • Cheddar Cheese - Cheese is always a winner!
    • Scallions - For garnishing.

    step by step instructions

    HOW TO MAKE CRACK CHICKEN

STEP 3: Shred the chicken using two forks. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and bacon.

STEP 4: Cover until the cheese is melted.

STEP 5: Serve on buns, over rice, on top of mashed potatoes, etc. Garnish with scallions.

    recipe tips and variations

    • Storage - Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
    • Reheating - To reheat, add the chicken mixture to a microwave-safe bowl and heat until warm.
    • Switch up the flavor - Add different types of cheese instead of cheddar cheese.
    • What to eat crack chicken - Add the mixture on top of buns, over rice, in a baked potato, over mashed potatoes, serve it as a dip with crackers, mixed in with pasta, or in a lettuce wrap for a low-carb, keto meal.

    frequently asked questions:

Why do they call it crack chicken?

It just means is highly addicting and is delicious.

    Is crack chicken keto?

Absolutely, especially when you serve it with low-carb options.

Can I leave crack chicken unshredded?

You can; however, I think it's best when shredded. It also stretches the meal out.

    freezer meal instructions

This crockpot crack chicken recipe is the perfect freezer meal! You can either prep this before cooking or after cooking. For best results, use within 4-6 months.

    TO FREEZE BEFORE COOKING:

    1. Prepare all ingredients and place them into a freezer bag or freezer-friendly container.
    2. Freeze.
    3. When ready to cook, add to the crockpot. If you are cooking from frozen, the chicken breasts will need additional cooking time. Frozen chicken breasts can be thawed before cooking by placing them in the refrigerator 24-48 hours beforehand.

    TO FREEZE AFTER COOKING:

    1. Prepare recipe as directed.
    2. Allow the shredded chicken mixture to cool to room temperature.
    3. Package in freezer bags or a freezer-friendly container.
    4. Freeze.
    5. Shredded chicken can be reheated in the microwave or the oven.
