Ingredients
  • 1 stick unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 and ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicon baking mat.
  2. Using either a handheld or an electric mixer, cream together the butter and sugar.
  3. Add in the egg and vanilla extract while mixing on low.
  4. Slowly add in the flour ½ cup at a time while mixing on low.
  5. Add in the salt and cornstarch.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips with a plastic spatula or a spoon.
  7. Spoon the cookie dough onto the baking sheet and bake for 9-10 minutes.
  8. Let the cookies cool for 2 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
