Ingredients
  • ½ cup 1 stick unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup white granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder unsweetened
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line an 8x8 baking dish with aluminum foil. Lightly grease with shortening.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, egg, and sugars. Make sure the melted butter isn't hot because you do not want to scramble the eggs. Mix everything together with a plastic spatula.
  3. Add in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder, Make sure everything is mixed together.
  4. Fold in the red food coloring.
  5. Pour brownie mix into the baking dish and spread out with the plastic spatula. Make sure it is even. Bake for 25-26 minutes. You should know when it is done when you insert a toothpick into the center. The toothpick should come out clean.
