This Slow Cooker Mississippi Chicken recipe is the ultimate comfort food made with only 5 ingredients! The perfect easy, dump-and-go recipe.

Ingredients
  • 2 lbs chicken breasts
  • 1 oz ranch seasoning packet
  • 1 au jus gravy packet
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 8-10 pepperonici peppers
  • ½ cup pepperoncini pepper juices
Instructions
  1. Add the thawed or frozen chicken breasts to the bottom of the slow cooker. Add the pepperoncini juice.

  2. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning packetand au jus packet on top of the chicken breasts.

  3. Top with pepperoncini peppers and unsalted butter.

  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.

  5. Once the chicken is tender, shred the chicken breasts with two forks.

  6. Serve alone, on sandwiches, or on top of mashed potatoes.

Recipe Notes

Using frozen chicken breasts:

  • Follow directions as directed with the same amount of time. 

Using chicken thighs:

  • Cut the butter in half because the chicken thighs have more fat than chicken breasts.
