I am not a huge pie fan at all, but give me a slice of sweet potato pie and I am sold. I normally just do not like the crust, well I also am not a huge fan of pizza crust either. Just give me the filling baby, please. 🙂
Another secret I have, I do not like to use store-bought fillings, no way. It is always way too sweet, plus I like to create my own flavors!
This sweet potato pie is to die for – I will be bringing it to my Thanksgiving dinner with my family, along with many others. I can already start to feel my tummy starting to get super full – I love Thanksgiving, however, I do not like the scale at Thanksgiving time. Don’t we all?!
Let’s get back to pie talk, okay? I do not use a fancy pie dish at all, just a simple 9-inch pie pan that I got at Walmart, you can also use a p.5-inch if that is what you have. Fancy, huh? (:
If you are looking for other dishes besides pie, take a look at the desserts category. I will be adding tons more, trust me.
Many store-bought pies, especially sweet potato are way too sweet for me. I have a huge sweet tooth, but I like my sweet potato savory more than sweet. Is that normal? It is just an all-around wonderful dessert.
Don’t get me wrong, it has a nice balance of sweetness, but it has a lot more than that. All I am trying to say is, just make this pie, okay? 🙂
Another thing I wanted to tell you guys, I used fresh sweet potatoes, but you can always do canned puree if that is your kinda thing. (:
What is your favorite pie to have at Thanksgiving?
