Four-Ingredient Slow Cooker Dr. Pepper Pulled Pork

  • 1 large onion, diced in half, then quartered and separated
  • 5 pound pork shoulder roast
  • salt and pepper
  • ½ cup + ¾ cup barbecue sauce, divided
  • 1 can of Dr. Pepper Soda
  • parsley, to garnish
  1. Place the onions in the bottom of the slow cooker. Season pork roast generously with salt and pepper, then coat in barbecue sauce.
  2. Place the pork shoulder roast on top of the onions, then pour in one can of Dr. Pepper.
  3. Cover and cook on low of 8 hours.
  4. When finished cooking, shred with two forks, mix the shredded pork with the juices and then cook for on high for 20 minutes.
