A refreshing watermelon berry kale smoothie recipe that is a great way to start the day off with or as a quick pick-me-up in the afternoon. A true summer smoothie!
This summer I have been trying new ways to get in all of the extra nutrients that my body needs and enjoying smoothies is one way I am doing it.
Not only are they super-healthy, but they are delicious as well. None of my smoothies will have any sugar added to them because I think the fruit adds just enough for my taste.
Now the hubby, he will need a gallon or two of sugar. Slowing working on that - LOL.
As I am sitting down writing this, I just looked at the time - I cannot believe it's already the middle of August. I have had a goal to shed a few pounds this year and now I think I am finally getting to it.
The calendar is moving way too quick this year, or I'm just moving a little too slow for it. HA.
I am kind of sad that summer is slowly winding down. Will miss all the fresh fruits and veggies and the garden tomatoes. Until next year...
Back to this amazing smoothie. I think you guys will love it because it uses summer fruit - berries and watermelon. What's not to love?
A quick tip on buying inexpensive berries - Trader Joes. I am in love with them and they have frozen fruit, organic too, that is excellent quality and inexpensive.
- 2 cups watermelon frozen and diced
- ¼ cup coconut water
- 1 cup kale stem removed and chopped
- ½ cup frozen berry mix
-
Combine the frozen watermelon, coconut water, kale, and mixed berries in a blender and blend until everything is fined chopped and is smoothie consistency.
You can also add in 1 scoop or protein powder.
